Burak Cochairs Boston Bar Employment Law Panel on Retaliation Claims

WALTHAM, MA — Employment and labor attorney Mark Burak will co-chair and appear as a panelist at the Boston Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Section panel, Handling Retaliation Cases — The Cutting Edge, on March 28, 2007 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Bar Association on 16 Beacon Street in Boston.

The panel features Massachusetts’ leading employment lawyers covering the current state of the law, how various state and federal laws differ, differences in claims under various statutory schemes, how to establish the claim, and what defenses are effective. Panelists will also discuss how in-house counsel view these claims and what preventive measures are effective and practical from an organizational standpoint.

Specific topics will include:

• What is an “adverse action” in state and federal retaliation claims under M.G.L. c. 151B and Title VII after Burlington Northern v. White
