New Patent Practice Reflects MBBP's
Strategic Growth

WALTHAM, MA — Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton, PC, (MBBP) is pleased to announced the formation of its patent practice. “Creating a patent practice is a strategic growth decision for our firm and an enhancement of our core legal services” said Donald Parker, managing partner. The MBBP Patent Practice will provide services in all aspects of the development, prosecution and management of patent portfolios, and the assessment of third party patents.

“Having established ourselves as a leader for legal services to the business community, particularly in the areas of M&A and venture capital, we felt that patent law was a natural progression for the firm. Patent prosecution is an extension of the high level legal services that we already provide in the areas of intellectual property and technology licensing,” Parker said. He added that the firm is “very pleased to have attracted Lisa Treannie and her life sciences patent practice, and we’re excited at the prospect of assisting Lisa over the next several years in growing a patent practice group at MBBP.”

In explaining her decision to make the move to MBBP, new shareholder Lisa Treannie said “although my practice at Ropes & Gray was satisfying, having the chance to build an entire department from its foundation was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.” Attorney Treannie has over 15 years experience specializing in patent law, focusing in the areas of biotechnology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and food science.
