WALTHAM, MA — Hastings Equity Partners has purchased R.L. Drake Company, a manufacturer of video signal modulation and transcoding equipment for cable television (CATV) headends. Hastings Equity Partners is a Boston-based private investment firm focused on small to mid-sized enterprises. Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton serves as regular counsel to Hastings, and advised it in connection with the structuring, negotiation and documentation of this transaction. Shannon Zollo was the lead attorney for this transaction.
Headquartered in Franklin, Ohio, Drake manufactures the primary network equipment that receives the core broadcast signal and converts and allocates the signal over different channels for distribution to end viewers. It sells equipment to CATV equipment distributors, systems integrators, CATV buying co-ops, service providers, and telephone companies.
Morse, Barnes-Brown Pendleton, PC, focuses exclusively on the core legal services that businesses need to succeed. The law firm assists businesses of all sizes — from start-ups to Fortune 1000 companies — in the areas of business law, technology and intellectual property, employment and immigration and taxation.
