The International Trademark Association (INTA) appointed Tom Dunn to the Examination Subcommittee of the Trademark Office Practices Committee for the 2006-2007 committee term. Through written comments and roundtables for trademark examiners, the Examination Subcommittee provides information and recommendations on trademark examination practices and procedures to trademark offices throughout the world, using INTA’s Model Guidelines on Trademark Examination. The Examination Subcommittee continues to ensure that INTA’s Model Guidelines on Trademark Examination remain updated and relevant to new developments in technology and practices.

Lea Pendleton has been named to the Board of Directors of the Association for Corporate Growth's Boston Chapter (ACG Boston). According to ACG Boston, Lea's appointment, along with that of eight other new directors, adds additional breadth to the Board and reflects the broad membershiop of the organization. Howard Zaharoff was on the faculty of the MCLE seminar "Buying and Selling Privately Owned Businesses" on October 27, 2005. The program acquainted participants with the complex and interdependent facets involved in buying and selling a privately-held business, whether structured as a merger, asset or stock acquisition. Howard spoke specifically on Intellectual Property issues, including understanding the hidden assets, due diligence and reps and warranties concerns, and maximizing value.
Robert Shea spoke at the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) Continuing Education Seminar "State Tax Update: What you need to know now about worker classification, e-filing, recent legislative developments, and 2002 capital gains" on Friday, October 21, 2005. Robert's presentation on the Massachusetts Independent Contractor Law, explained the law, evaluated the various risks involved, and discussed steps businesses can take to reduce these risks.
